The Omicron variant of COVID-19 continues to wreak havoc on community events.

The latest event to be cancelled is the upcoming Invermere Snowflake Festival on Friday, January 21.

Organizers announced this morning (Jan. 13) that the event was being shelved for the year to reduce the likelihood of exposure to COVID-19 and “do our part to slow the spread in our community.

“While this decision was not made lightly, it was made in an effort to help keep our community safe. The health and safety of our community, staff, volunteers is our top priority. We look forward to returning to Kinsmen Beach in 2023.”
