Tripping the lights fantastic at Fairmont

Road Trippin’ Fairmont Hot Springs Resort, B.C.

Well, wasn’t that something.

Sometimes an old place can seem completely new.

That was the case when we visited Fairmont Hot Springs Resort in the Columbia Valley recently.

We’ve stayed at the resort many times in the past decade, enjoying the guests hot springs and grand beauty of the community gracing the side of the Rockies and looking out toward the Purcell Mountains to the west and Lake Windermere to the north.

In the valley for some business and pleasure, we didn’t expect to conduct a photo shoot in Fairmont. Been there, done that etc.

Until we saw the spectacular lights display in the centre of the resort. While a bit Christmassy, the gorgeous and expansive array of lights showcase the resort and region as a winter wonderland.

Check it out.

Fairmont Hot Springs is located smack dab in the middle of the Columbia Valley community in the East Kootenay, one hour north of Cranbrook and Kimberley, two hours northwest of Fernie and 2.5 hours from Banff.
