Bright, sunny skies, a gentle breeze and the whir of reels – many reels.

Numbers were down a bit for the Cranbrook Fire Fighters’ Association’s 37th annual Firefighter’s Fishing Clinic, held on Father’s Day (Sunday, June 16) at Idlewild Park, but the event was still a success.

The clinic is for children 15-years old-and under and families are encouraged to come along – and they did.

Hot dogs and refreshments were served many prizes were won, including a new bicycle as the grand prize!

The lake was stocked with fish by the Kootenay Trout Hatchery. Provincial fishing regulations applied.
