Almost time to find your favourite lil plucker

As November has been one lingering sneer of winter after an endlessly beautiful October, it’s time for some cheer.

A great way to insert cheer into your life is to give to others and lucky for you, the 13th annual Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce Turkey Drive is getting underway on Saturday, Nov. 19.

A flock of chamber volunteers will be accepting donations between Nov. 19 and Dec. 12, with the hopes of helping as many families and individuals as possible this Christmas. A fundraising goal of $60,000 has been set.

It has been an enormously difficult year and tough times remain for many in our community. Please reach out to your favourite “lil plucker” (name of volunteer fundraisers) and buy a turkey (or more) and know that you will bring some cheer to a fellow, lesser fortunate, community member. The minimum donation is $20.

“We know Cranbrook is a city full of big hearts. The Turkey Drive has operated as an annual fundraiser to assist the Salvation Army and the Cranbrook Food Bank’s Christmas Hamper programs. Many families, seniors, and residents of all kinds rely on the success of these programs and community services,” the chamber explained on its website.

Donations open soon. Check the chamber website for more information or call 250-426-5914 to find out more about the lil pluckers and how you can reach them.
