BC Chamber Week Luncheon Feb. 20

Join the Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, Feb. 20 to celebrate Chamber Week with special guests from the BC Chamber of Commerce, Director of Policy Dan Baxter and Director of Membership Joan Isac.

Dan will review the BC Chamber network’s policy work relative to issues of our region as reviewed in the BC Chamber Area Meeting last October and provide insight into our advocacy efforts leading up to the results of the February 19 provincial budget.

Joan will review member benefits that are available to all members of the Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce with specific focus on Legal Consultation and access to student talent for your business.

Dan Baxter, Director of Policy Development, Government and Stakeholder Relations, has been with the BC Chamber for six years. Prior to joining the BC Chamber, Dan spent three years with the federal government, two of those years in Ottawa. Dan worked for the Honourable Ed Fast, former Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, where he led the Minister’s Asia-Pacific Gateway file.

Dan is passionate about community service and civic participation. For over 15 years, Dan has been a volunteer member of various boards. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Richmond Community Coalition and Britannia Heritage Shipyard Society.

Joan Isac, BC Chamber of Commerce Director of Member Relations, is known for her enthusiasm for connecting the dots, her ability to build strong working relationships, and her problem-solving skills, Joan has been an integral part of the BC Chamber team over the past year.

She gained management experience in many sectors but has specialized in community and Indigenous relations in recent years, representing FortisBC on projects to consult with local government, the public, First Nations and other key stakeholders. Always in the search for the best deal or value-adds she is pleased to be joining us to review some of the finer details of the benefit programs that are available to all members of the chamber network in B.C.

The Chamber Week Luncheon is Feb. 20 from 11:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Cranbrook History Centre (57 Van Horne Street South). Luncheon cost is $30 for members and $38 for non-members.
