City begins search for new fire chief

The City of Cranbrook will be starting a recruitment process for a new Director of Cranbrook Fire and Emergency Services, following the departure of Wayne “Dez” Desjardins due to personal and family reasons.

For the interim, Scott Driver, the Deputy Director of Fire Services, will fill the Director role until a replacement is found.

Fire chief Desjardins joined the department following the retirement of long-time director Wayne Price, who is now a City of Cranbrook Councillor.

The City of Cranbrook appreciates Wayne’s efforts during his time with Fire & Emergency Services, and wishes him success in his future endeavours.
