Spirit of the Rockies 2026 off and running
Spirit of the Rockies 2026 (Rockiesfest) lights up Cranbrook with fun and games and entertainment starting June 18 and running to Sunday, June 21, with more than 40 events taking place.
Things get rockin’ on the Community Talent Showcase Stage at Balment Park Friday, June 19 at 5:30 p.m. with the Spirit of Sound showcase highlighting a dynamic lineup of solo artists, duets, trios, and full bands who will be performing throughout RockiesFest.
It’s your chance to discover new favourites, cheer on incredible local talent, and enjoy a sneak peek of the sounds that will carry the festival all weekend long.
The six acts will be judged with the winner being selected to open for Flatline Phoenix on Saturday night at the Cranbrook Curling Centre.
Saturday is absolutely jammed with activities, beginning with the St. Eugene Grand Parade at 10:30 a.m. in downtown Cranbrook (pictured above).
The parade route will be as follows: The parade will start on at 1212-2nd St N and then proceed down 11th Ave S. At Baker it will take a right onto Baker Street and follow that till it gets to 8th Ave S and goes left. At the intersection of 8th Ave S and Louis St it will take a left and follow Louis Street down past Rotary Park and finalize at Louis St and 13th Ave S.
As usual, sports play a huge role in Rockiesfest, from the Bocce Tourney, beginning Friday at 5:30 p.m., as well as soccer, baseball and cornhole tournaments, arm wrestling and the always popular Fitness Inc. Strongman Competition beginning at 11:45 a.m. Saturday.
