The Cranbrook Triton swim club attended the Calgary Patriots’ swim meet last weekend and brought home some great results both in best times and hardware.

The club had 20 swimmers attend the meet and race some awesome swims against 706 swimmers from all over Alberta.

All of the swimmers worked hard and made their coaches proud.  There was a contest held by the host club recognizing “random acts of kindness” and three swimmers from the Cranbrook club were nominated, with Quinn Featherling-Craig winning one of the three prizes for her team spirit and sportsmanship (lead image above).

On Saturday the format had heats and finals, where the top 8 swimmers in an event races again in the final swim in the evening.  The club had 7 swimmers qualify for finals: Sonya Zandbergen (right) qualified for 50 Back (7^th), 50 Fly (3^rd, Bronze Medal), and 100 Free (6^th); Jackson Hanson qualified for 100 Free (7^th); Angelique Lalande qualified for 50 Back(7^th), 100 Breast(4^th), and 100 Free (4^th); Trapper Pillet qualified for 100 Breast (6^th) and 100 Free (didn’t swim due to illness); Katie Schlichting qualified for 100 Breast (3^rd, Bronze Medal), 50 Fly (4^th) and 100 Free (6^th); Quinn Featherling-Craig qualified for 100 Breast (2^nd, Silver Medal).

The next meets for the swim club are the Man/Sask Provincials in Winnipeg on March 13-15 and the Pronghorn Classic in Lethbridge on March 28-29.
