Autumn in the East Kootenay 2022

Red-naped Sapsucker in Gold Creek.

Autumn was the reverse to summer in terms of how the nice weather rolled out in the East Kootenay.

It began in full spectacular, mind-bogglingly wonderful glory, with September and October the best they’ve been in years.

November and December, on the other hand, blew chunks. Snow fell Nov. 2 (in most areas) and did not leave. Winter began more than six weeks before it officially began.

Trade-offs and sacrifices are always required in order to live in paradise, alas!

Our collection of images taken in fall 2022, including wildlife shots, were taken in the following areas: Fairmont Hot Springs/Columbia Lake; Cranbrook and area; Invermere; Kimberley and area; Panorama; Wilmer; Windermere.

Happy New Year to all!
