Columbia River-Revelstoke voters will be sending a brand new Member of the Legislative Assembly to Victoria once the May 9 provincial election results are tallied.

Three-term MLA Norm Macdonald opted to retire from politics, opening the door for District of Invermere Mayor Gerry Taft as BC NDP candidate. Fairmont Hot Springs resident Doug Clovechok is taking a third swing at securing the riding seat for the BC Liberals, while Samson Boyer is running for the Green Party, Rylan Kashuba is a Libertarian candidate, with two independent candidates including Kimberley resident Justin Hooles and Duncan MacLeod.

Now that you have that basic information, please select from one of the public pre-election candidates’ events from below to attend and to bring yourself even more up to speed as for whom to vote for.

Candidates’ Forums/debates being held in the riding:

Invermere: Thursday, April 27 at David Thompson Secondary School theatre, 6:30 p.m.

In lieu of a forum/debate in Kimberley ‘Berley Times owner/operators Paula Gordon and Bill Russell and e-KNOW’s Ian Cobb have teamed up to present video interviews with four of the candidates running in this election – Samson Boyer, Doug Clovechok, Justin Hooles and Gerry Taft. Regretfully, candidates Rylan Kashuba and Duncan MacLeod announced as candidates at the last minute and could not be reached or accommodated for video sessions in time. The videos will run on ‘Berley Times and e-KNOW soon.
