MLAs hosting Zoom meeting on tourism

Kootenay East MLA Tom Shypitka, Columbia River-Revelstoke MLA Doug Clovechok and Parksville-Qualicum MLA Michelle Stilwell are hosting a Zoom meeting on tourism June 10, between 6 and 7 p.m.

“There is no doubt that British Columbia’s tourism industry is facing challenges due to COVID-19. Tourism operators, many of them small businesses, have faced many hardships that will require government’s immediate attention,” said Shypitka, who is Official Opposition co-critic of the Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation, along with MLA Stillwell.

“As your local representatives, we have received numerous questions and concerns on how the tourism industry can successfully reopen after the pandemic. Unfortunately, there are more questions than answers,” Shypitka said.

“That is why we would like to hear directly from you so we can share your concerns with the government.”

If you would like to take part in the Zoom meeting, please contact Melissa Nowakowski at [email protected] or text 250-661-2246.
