MP Morrison continues bid to have churches re-opened

Kootenay-Columbia MP Rob Morrison is continuing a push to have places of worship re-opened in the province, after being ordered closed by B.C. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry as part of a COVID-19 curve flattening measure.

Morrison (pictured above) March 12 sent a letter to Dr. Henry and Minister of Health Adrian Dix calling on them to follow the lead of Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe and the Saskatchewan Health Authority, which re-opened places of worship last Friday.

“I would like to thank Minister Dix and Dr Henry for their efforts to keep our communities safe. Further, I welcome their leadership as they consider safely re-opening these important community organizations so that places of worship might be positioned to offer the help that is so desperately needed,” Morrison stated.

The letter sent to the B.C. government officials.

The local MP’s letter is his second bid to have churches re-opened.
