Nominations now accepted for candidacies
As of today, Sept. 1, nominations are now being accepted for elected offices around the region.
Municipal, regional district and school district elections take place on October 17.
The Regional District of East Kootenay is reminding those interested in running for office to submit their nomination papers for:
- RDEK Electoral Area Director (Electoral Areas A, B, C, E, F and G);
- Trustee for School District No. 5 School Trustee Electoral Area 4 (RDEK Electoral Area B);
- Trustee for School District No. 6 School Trustee Electoral Areas 4 (RDEK Electoral Area F & Village of Canal Flats);
- Trustee for School District No. 6 School Trustee Electoral Areas 5 (RDEK Electoral Area G & Village of Radium Hot Springs).
Nomination documents will be received by the Chief Election Officer or Deputy Chief Election Officer at the RDEK office in Cranbrook until 4 p.m. on September 11 – excluding weekends and statutory holidays.
Nomination packages are available during regular RDEK office hours or online.
