Rising artist playing Fernie and Radium

Jack Richardson London Music Awards (JRLMA) 2018 Ontario Independent Recording Artist of the Year, songwriter and scientist Sarah Beatty (Hamilton, ON) is actively touring Western Canada and the USA and will be making two stops in the East Kootenay.

Her newest album, Bandit Queen, released in February of 2017 peaked at number one on Canada’s National roots charts (Earshot), and held court at the number two most played roots record for the month of January, earning a spot in the Earshot Top 20 and keeping steady rotation at stations across the country and on international playlists.

The critically acclaimed album is a genre-defying 13 track cinematic adventure that recounts tales of truck drivers, religious figures, prehistoric geology, upside down turned around folk tales, millennial graduates, and other lady-based characters Beatty’s met or made up along the way. But the root line is one woman’s stories, vitality, and wisdoms passed on in the most musical ways she could bring to bear, with friends and musical allies.

She will be performing August 17 at Fernie’s The Brickhouse and August 20 at Horsethief Pub in Radium Hot Springs.

She’s also playing nearby at Waterton’s Thirsty Bear Pub August 16 and August 18 at Bruno’s in Banff.
