SD5 Board Notes
The following is a summary of motions carried by the School District No. 5 School Board of Trustees during the December 11 board meeting in Cranbrook.
Motions Carried
Advocacy:
That the Board tentatively approves the Jaffray Elementary Junior Secondary School field trip to Spain/Morocco in April, 2019.
Policy:
That the Board of Education approves Draft Policy 2.5 and Regulations 2.5R Impairing Substances in the Workplace.
Student Services:
That the Board of Education approves district management to prepare a written letter to the College of the Rockies outlining the staffing needs of School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay) with respect to speech language pathologists, school counsellors, student services teachers and other positions that the district has historically found difficult to fill.
Finance/Operations:
That the Board approves the amended School District Statement of Financial Information (SOFI) Report as amended.
That the Board drafts a media release on the Select Standing Committee presentation and recommendations.
General:
That the Board nominates Trustee Doug McPhee to sit on the Key City Theatre Society Board.
