Summer in the East Kootenay 2022

Summer began on the upswing June 21, with the previous few weeks a damp and chilly affair.

The heat wave began in mid-July and grew in intensity into August, when COVID-19 grabbed hold of Carrie, forcing a prolonged shutdown of adventures for us.

Because of the pandemic, we didn’t do much travelling the past two years so we seized the opportunity and ventured back into the USA once we had the all-clear, as well as through B.C.

All that is a way of saying we didn’t get out into the East Kootenay as much as usual in summer 2022. We were also a bit cursed with a lack of nice weather when we did venture about.

Our photo presentation of life passing the East Kootenay for summer 2022 is smaller than usual but the beauty of our region never disappoints, nor does its wildlife.

The following photos were captured in: Cranbrook and area; Bull River area; Elkford; Fernie; Elk Valley; Radium Hot Springs; Moyie; Rogers Pass; and Sparwood.
