Woman’s body recovered from Moyie Falls

RCMP divers this weekend recovered the body of a 22-year-old woman who went missing after jumping into the Moyie Falls near Lumberton.

Cranbrook RCMP was dispatched to the falls area July 28 after a Jamaican College of the Rockies international student was presumed drowned after cliff jumping into Moyie Falls.

Bystanders and friends of the woman attempted a rescue but were unable to pull her out.

Cranbrook and Kimberly Search and Rescue and RCMP E Division Underwater Recovery Team were called in to assist in locating and recovering the woman who name has not been released.
