Family Programming   

Storytime (Ages 3-5 years)

Tuesdays 11:15-11:45 a.m.

Stories, singing and activities for preschoolers and their caregivers.

Toddlertime (Ages 0-2 years)

Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:15-11:45 a.m.

Singing, simple stories and fingerplays for babies and their caregivers.

Senior Storytime (for all ages with seniors and local preschoolers/ kindergarteners)

Trinity Lodge Main Dining Room: Wed, Dec 5 at 1:30 p.m.

Rocky Mountain Village Serenity Room: Wed, Dec 12 at 1 p.m.

Community seniors and children welcome to attend!

Plaid Party Wednesday, Dec 19. – 11:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

(for caregivers, families and for children ages 0-5)

Dress in yours most festive plaid and join us for stories, songs, soup and socializing! Please bring a simple potluck item to share.

Children’s Activities for Grades 1-6  Drop In (Ages 7-12)

Tuesday Dec. 4, 11 & 18: Holiday Bingo 3:45 – 4:45 p.m.

Christmas themed Bingo games, snacks and a few prizes. Drop in, waiver required.

Wednesday, Dec. 5, 12 & 19: Christmas Paper Village  3:45-4:45 p.m.

Let’s build a winter village to display at our community party. Simple snack provided.  Drop in, waiver required.

Thursday, Dec 6, 13 and 20: Secret Elf Society 3:45 – 4:45 p.m.

Crafts to make and give away. Simple snack provided. Drop in, waiver required.

FUN Friday – Dec. 7 Holiday Movie 1:30-3 p.m.

Popcorn and a holiday-themed movie. All are welcome, children under 7 must be accompanied by a caregiver.  Drop in, waiver required.

Adult Programming

Knit Clique

Drop-In space for all who enjoy a yarny endeavour in good company. BYO project: tea will be on.

Every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. on the main floor couch.

Cyber Seniors: Wednesday, Dec. 5, 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Are you a senior that is keen to learn about their ipad, laptop or has questions about their gmail account, the app store or youtube? Come join a librarian on the first Wednesday of the month and succeed in unraveling some of these mysteries in technology.

Last Minute Santa: Thursday, Dec 6 6-7:30 p.m., Drop In.

Do you have a full heart but an empty wallet? Come join us for a night of DIY gifts to make and share, all materials provided.  Adult only program

Walkie Talkie Book Club Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 10-11 a.m. (Book: Poles Apart by Terry Fallis). An outdoor, walking book club. Email [email protected] for further information.

#writeitdown: Thursday, Dec. 13, 6:30 p.m. Theme: When is it enough

Are you a writer looking for inspiration and a chance to connect with others? Join our monthly gathering of those who keen to write, share and learn.  All writers welcome! A safe place to read and/or share aloud what you have written and listen to the creative words of others. Adult only program

Tea and Talk Book Club: Friday, Dec. 21 at 1:30 p.m.  (Book: Small beneath the Sky by Lorna Crozier.)

Copies of the current monthly book are available from the library.

All ages Programming

Carolling Jam: Saturday, Dec. 8, 3-4:30 p.m. All ages

Bring your acoustic instrument (voices count as well!) and join the jam! Hot chocolate and treats. Free downloadable carol book available from the library website.

DIY Holiday Card Making: Saturday, Dec. 15, 1:30-3:30 p.m. (Come and go) All ages

Create your own cards or type an old fashioned letter to your friends and family. All materials are supplied.

Dickens’ Christmas Party: Saturday, Dec. 22, 2-4 p.m. All ages

Join us for cider, stories, treats, and activities for all ages. This annual event is a wonderful chance to connect with your neighbours. The afternoon concludes with a rousing community Christmas carol led by local community musicians. All are welcome.

Pyjamas and Puzzles  Thursday, Dec. 27, 1:30-3:30 p.m. All ages

Stay in your PJs and puzzle away with a friend or family member. Hot chocolate and and puzzles for all provided.

Sound of Music Party  Friday, Dec. 28 – 1:30-3:30 p.m. All ages

A few Austrian-themed snacks, book displays and the Sound of Music movie to enjoy. All ages welcome. Children under 7 must be accompanied by a caregiver.

The library will be closed for the holidays from Sunday, Dec. 23-26 and Dec. 30-January 1, 2019. Regular hours resume January 2, 2019.
