The schedule for Fernie Heritage Library for December 2017.

Family Programming   

Storytime (Ages 3-5 years)

Tuesdays 11:15-11:45 a.m.

Stories, singing and activities for preschoolers and their caregivers.

Toddlertime (Ages 0-2 years)

Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:15-11:45 a.m.

Singing, simple stories and fingerplays for babies and their caregivers.

Senior Storytime (for all ages with seniors and local preschoolers/ kindergarteners)

Tom Uphill Manor Main Dining Room: Wed., Dec 6 at 1:30 p.m.

Rocky Mountain Village Serenity Room: Wed., Dec 13 at 1 p.m.

Children’s Activities for Grades 1-6  

Tuesday, Dec. 5 3:45-5 p.m. Legends of the TITANIC (Drop-In, ages 10+)

Fascinating stories, facts and activities about the “Unsinkable Queen of the Ocean.”

Wednesday, Dec. 6  3:45-5 p.m. LEGO CLUB (ages 7+)

New challenge every week.

Thursday, Dec. 7 3:45-5 p.m. CALENDAR KIDS (Drop-in, ages 7+)

We are creating our own calendar pages with local scenes and by local talent! Drop-in, simple snack provided.

Pizza League Thursday, Dec. 21, 6-7 p.m.

Monthly teen drop in (ages 13+) for free pizza and board games. Pizza generously donated by Elk Valley Pizza Shoppe.

Adult Programming

Tea and Talk Book Club: Friday, Dec. 29 at 1:30 p.m.

Copies of the current monthly book are available from the library.

Walkie Talkie Book Club Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. (Book: The High Mountains of Portugal – Yann Martell) An outdoor, walking book club. Email [email protected] for further information.

Knit Clique

Drop-In Knitting, crocheting and any other yarny endeavour Wednesdays at 10 a.m. in the upstairs reference library. BYO project. Please enter through the back entrance.

SEASONAL PROGRAMMING

Community Christmas Celebration – Saturday, Dec. 16, from 2-4 p.m.

Join us for cider, stories, treats, and activities for all ages. This annual event is a wonderful chance to connect with your neighbours. The afternoon concludes with a rousing community Christmas carol led by a string band. All are welcome

Cozy Corner

Thursday, Dec. 28 and Friday Dec. 29 from 2-4 p.m. (all ages).

Stuart McLean holiday stories, hot chocolate, games and a holiday scavenger hunt for all ages.

Just for Kids After school Holiday Programs (Age 7+ drop in)

Tuesdays, Dec. 12 & 19: POPCORN & MOVIE 3:45-5 p.m.

A movie and popcorn to get into the holiday spirit.

Wednesday, Dec. 13 & 20: SECRET ELF SOCIETY 3:45-5 p.m.

Teacher gifts to make and give!

Thursday, Dec. 14 and 21: WRAP and WRITE – 3:45-5 p.m.

Create some wrapping paper, cards or type an old fashioned letter to your friends and family

Plaid Party & Potluck Wednesday – Dec. 20, 11:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (for caregivers/and children aged ages 0-5). Dress in you best plaid and join us for stories, songs and soup. Please bring a simple potluck item to share.

The library will be closed Saturday, December 23-Wednesday December 27 inclusive and December 31-January 2 inclusive.
