Family Programming Ā Ā 

StorytimeĀ (Ages three to five years) on Tuesdays from 11:15-11:45 a.m.

Stories, singing and activities for preschoolers and their caregivers.

ToddlertimeĀ (Ages infant to two years) on Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:15-11:45 a.m.

Singing, simple stories and fingerplays for babies and their caregivers.

Senior Storytime (for all ages with seniors and local preschoolers/ kindergarteners)

Rocky Mountain Village Serenity Room: Wednesday, February 13 at 1 p.m.

Trinity Lodge: Wed., February 27 at 1:30 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 15

11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – I Got You Babe Storytime and Sweets Potluck

We provide the stories, songs and soup. You bring the cute babies, toddlers, and family, with a sweet treat to share. Letā€™s celebrate all the love and messiness that babies can bring!

Children’s Activities for Grades 1-6 Ā 

(After school programs, simple snack provided. All participants must have a valid Junior Library membership and signed waiver to attend any library programming.)

Mondays 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. BOARD GAMES (Drop-In) at Trinity Lodge 1142-6th Ave.

Back by popular demand: the Fernie Heritage Library and Trinity Lodge invite you to a game of crib, tile rummy, uno, scrabble and more!Ā  This program is open to all ages, from children, teen to adult! Children under 10 must be accompanied by a responsible caregiver for this program held at the Trinity Lodge.

Tuesdays 3:45-4:45 p.m. TECHY TUESDAYS Ā (ages nine and up; Drop In.)

Learn about circuits, coding and more, at this play-based and learner-driven program for kids who like discover and create by trial and error and FUN! All participants must have a valid Jr library membership and signed waiver to attend.

Wednesdays Ā 3:45-4:45 p.m. Lego Town (ages seven and up) February 6-27.

We are building a Lego town complete with all our favourite parks, places, shops and amenities.Ā  This session runs for four weeks. Limited space. Ā MUST REGISTER ON EVENTBRITE TO ATTEND (ā€œFebruary Lego Townā€) All participants must have a valid Jr library membership and signed waiver to attend.

Thursdays 3:45-4:45 p.m. KNITS AND KNOTS (Drop-in, ages eight and up.)

For crafty kids who love to knit, crochet or want to learn! All materials and basic instruction is provided. Completed projects can be taken home! All participants must have a valid Jr library membership and signed waiver to attend.

Adult Programming

CYBER SENIORS – Wednesdays, 1:30-2:30 p.m. Drop-in.

Are you a senior that is keen to learn about their ipad, laptop or has questions about their gmail account, the app store or youtube? Come join us on Wednesdays and succeed in unraveling some of these mysteries in technology.

Knit Clique

Drop-In space for all who enjoy a yarny endeavour in good company. BYO project: tea will be on. Every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. on the main floor couch.

UKE 101: Thursday, February 7, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Music Builds Brain Power: a free, one-hour beginner workshop to begin honing your ukulele prowess. Ukes are available for use during the workshop and for sign out after the event. MUST REGISTER on eventbrite TO ATTEND: (Eventbrite: Uke 101 FEB)

Walkie Talkie Book Club – Wednesday, February 13 at 10 a.m.

Dress for the weather and join us for this outdoor, walking book club. All are welcome. Copies of this monthā€™s book (Flood Girls by Richard Fifield) are available from the library circulation desk.

#WriteItDown: Thursday, February 21 at 6:30-7:45 p.m. TOPIC: ā€˜Holding Handsā€™

Are you a writer looking for inspiration and a chance to connect with others? Join our monthly gathering of those who keen to write, share and learn. Facilitated by local writers, poets, songwriters, bloggers, editors and journallers. All writers welcome!Ā  A safe place to read and/or share aloud what you have written and listen to the creative words of others.

Tea and Talk Book Club: Friday, February 22, 1:30 p.m. This monthā€™s book is Starlight by Richard Wagamese. Copies of the book are available for sign out from the library.

ā€˜Wonā€™t You be My Neighbourā€™ Movie & Discussion Thursday, February 28, 6:30-9 p.m.

We will be viewing a movie about the life and deeper workings of Fred Rogers, filmmaker, producer and ultimate neighbour. Popcorn provided.

All Ages Programming

Make a Valentine: Friday & Saturday February 8 and 9, 1:30-3:30 p.m. (come and go).

Thereā€™s nothing like giving a handmade, heartfelt card or letter. We provide all the materials, just bring all the mushy feelings and create a unique card for someone you love. Cinnamon hearts provided.
