Fernie city hall re-opens for front counter services

Fernie City Hall is now re-open for front counter service during regular business hours, Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Property tax and utilities payments, pet licenses, and business licenses can once again be processed in person. All other services and meetings with city officials are available by phone, online or by appointment only.

We have additional safety precautions in place that may extend in-person wait times. Safety is our top priority and anyone visiting City Hall is asked to follow the following protocols:

• Do not enter or approach others if you are sick or required to self-isolate;

• Obey markings to ensure physical distancing;

•  Follow traffic-flow arrows;

• Only two members of the public inside at one time;

• Sanitize hands at the front counter.

If you still need to make your property tax payments, but want to skip the lineup, there are other ways to pay and claim your homeowner grant.

You can find more options for paying your taxes, and information on how to claim your Home Owner Grant online here.

If you don’t require assistance you can drop off your Home Owner Grant application and payments in the secure drop-off box just inside the main entryway, or after hours through the City Hall mail-slot.

Please ensure all required information is complete to avoid delays.
