Fernie Operations Department in transition
Dave Cockwell has demonstrated dedication to leadership as the Director of Operations at the City of Fernie.
October 19 will mark 37 years that Dave has been with the city and that will be his last day in the corner office he has occupied for so long.
“Dave has certainly earned his retirement and on behalf of all that Dave has worked with at the City of Fernie, we wish him the very best in the next stage of his life. Dave will be dearly missed,” City of Fernie chief administrative officer Norm McInnis explained.
On October 1, Zabrina Pendon joined the City of Fernie team as the new Director of Operations. Zabrina worked as the Manager of the East Kootenay Office of ISL Engineering and Land Services in Fernie.
Ms. Pendon brings a wealth of knowledge and skills with her to the City of Fernie’s Operations Department.
“Zabrina has the professional designation of P.Eng and has an MBA from the University of Calgary. We could not have found a better candidate to replace Dave as our Director of Operations. We are pleased to have her join our team and utilize her expertise going forward,” said Mr. McInnis.
