Happy Griz Days!

Storytime (Ages 3-5 years) Tuesdays 11:15-11:45 a.m.
Stories, singing and activities for preschoolers and their caregivers.

Toddlertime (Ages 0-2 years) Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:15-11:45 a.m. Singing, simple stories and fingerplays for babies and their caregivers.

Weekend Family Storytime: Saturday, March 3, 1-1:30 p.m.
 Griz Days Storytime: join us for singing, activities and fun for the whole family!

Senior Storytime (for all ages with seniors and local preschoolers/ kindergarteners)

Tom Uphill Manor Main Room: Wed, March 7 at 1:30 p.m.

Rocky Mountain Village Serenity Room: Wed, March 14 at 1 p.m. All community seniors and children welcome to attend!

Children’s Activities for Grades 1-6

MONDAYS 3:30 – 4:45 p.m. CRIBBAGE CLUB for ALL AGES (March 5 and FINAL CRIB TOURNAMENT on March 12).

(Drop-In) at Trinity Lodge 1142-6th Ave.
Find or bring a partner and challenge them to a few rounds. Children under 10 must be accompanied by a responsible caregiver for this program held at the Trinity Lodge

TUESDAY March 13 – 3:45 -4:45 pm BOOK TRAILER FILM CLUB MOVIE FEST The movie makers are ready to show you their finished book trailers!
Join us for front row seats viewing of the book trailers AND free popcorn.
Drop in, all children under 7 to be accompanied by and adult.

WEDNESDAYS 3:45-5 p.m. LEGO CLUB (Registration required, ages 7+) New challenge every week Registration is OPEN for April 4-25 session by emailing [email protected]

THURSDAYS 3:45-5 p.m. KNITS AND KNOTS (Drop-in, ages 8+) March 8 and 15 only. For crafty kids who love to knit, crochet or want to learn! All materials and basic instruction is provided.

SPRING BREAK PROGRAMMING March 20-27 – All Drop-In

TUESDAYS March 20 and 27 from 1-2:30 p.m.: Building, Creating and Making (ages 7-12) Includes coding, Lego and Keva projects (in partnership with CBAL).

WEDNESDAYS March 21 and 28 from 1-2:30 p.m. Charades and Puppeteering (ages 7-12) Calling all kids who love drama, stories and performing for an afternoon of pretending and fun!

WEDNESDAYS March 21 and 28 from 3-4 p.m. Movers and Shakers (ages 5 & 6)
Come for some creative building fun and games. Children must attend with responsible caregiver.

THURSDAY March 22 from 1-2:30 p.m. Children’s Movie and Popcorn (ages 7-12).

Adult Programming

Booked Event: Joseph Boyden Friday, March 9 at 7 p.m.

This celebrated Canadian novelist, the author of Orenda (2013) and Wenjack (2016), will be interviewed by local author Angie Abdou as part of this Booked! event which includes live music by Redgirl and a cash bar. Suggested donation of $10/person at the door.

Tea and Talk Book Club: Friday, March 23 at 1:30 p.m.

Everybody’s Son by Thrity Umigar Copies of the current monthly book are available from the library.

Walkie Talkie Book Club Wednesday, March 14 at 10 a.m. (Book: Wired to Create by Steve Kauffmann) An outdoor, walking book club. We will meet on the front steps of the library, walk along along the river path and chat as we go. Email [email protected] for further information.

Ukulele 101 – Thursday, March 22 6:30 -7:30 p.m. Music builds brain power! Register on eventbrite for this free, one-hour beginner workshop to playing the ukulele. You can borrow a ukulele from the library during the workshop and keep it for two weeks to practice your new skills. Limited spots available.

Sensory Storytime Round Table Discussion – Thursday, March 15, 6-7 p.m. We would like your input and insight about developing programming to support families and community educators living with children on the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) specifically about beginning a sensory-focused storytime at the Fernie Heritage Library. Lego for Engineers Friday March 2, 4-5:15 p.m.
March is National Engineers’ Month!
Are you an engineer that is keen to get back to your roots? We have an engineering Lego challenge for you! All engineers are invited to register their team of one adult engineer and one child for a fun afternoon of building and creating. Limited spaces Free event. Prizes and snacks.
