Nic Milligan elected mayor of Fernie

The City of Fernie has a new mayor and council following today’s election.

Nic Milligan has defeated incumbent Mayor Ange Qualizza, with 68.5% of the vote (1,701 to 776 votes), according to Election BC.

Three incumbent councillors will be returning to office, including Kevin McIsaac (1,208 votes), Kyle Hamilton (1,124) and Troy Nixon (1,088).

Receiving the most votes for councillor is Harshan Ramadass, with 1,709 votes, followed by Tracey Audia Kelly (1,225) and another new council member Ted Shoesmith (1,145).

Spencer Gough (611);

Patrick Burke (606);

Jonathan MacGregor (568);

Bob Langfield (565);

Zuzana Simpson (564);

Blaine Fabi (446).
