Due to increase turbidity creating a ‘fair’ rating the City of Fernie has this morning (Nov. 25) issued a Water Quality Advisory.

The city reports that while the associated risks are minimal, Interior Health and the city are recommending that children, the elderly, people with weakened immune systems and anyone seeking additional protection drink boiled water or a safe alternative until further notice.

For these at-risk populations, water intended for drinking, washing fruits and vegetables or for making juice, ice or brushing teeth should be boiled for one minute.
