Coal Miner Days (CMD) is Sparwood’s weeklong community celebration that has something for everyone, from sporting events to kids’ festivities, parade, and everything in between, the second week of June every year.

Coal Miner Days are packed full of exciting events and fun for the entire family.

CMD proceeds have been raised to support: Lilac Terrace expansion; new Sparwood Skate Park; Raise a Child UP; Sparwood EDC Committee; Sparwood Food Bank; Playgrounds; Search & Rescue; as well as sporting groups in our community.

Coal Miner Days provides the opportunity to showcase businesses and not for profit organizations in front of crowds that without or work would not be possible. It stimulates our economy and provides much needed support and recognition to our community. We provide a huge venue and crowd for organizations and businesses to showcase what they offer in our valley.

Not-for-profits can set up for free and share with attendees what they do. Businesses are encouraged to host events and take part in celebrations.

Local businesses participate by hosting events and featuring sales throughout the week.

Our weeklong event features everything from Pancake Breakfast to Ball Tournament, Fire Truck Rides to Bike Rodeo, Classes, Seniors Strawberry Tea, Escape Room, Petting Zoo, Game Show, Kids Fest, Food Trucks, Car Show and Parade as well as a many physical activities. There are events for all ages and a great time to be had all.
