Kimberley Farmers’ Market fires up June 21
Kimberley Farmers’ Market is celebrating our fifth season in 2018! Thursdays, June 21– September 20 from 5-7:30 p.m.
Howard Street is the place to be on Thursday evenings in the summertime! Now in our fifth year of operation, the Kimberley Farmers’ Market bustles with people picking up locally grown produce, freshly prepared food items, eggs and meat, gorgeous artisanal items, locally crafted spirits and catching up with friends, neighbours and visitors to our area.
Started in 2014 as part of Wildsight Kimberley/Cranbrook’s Food Sustainability initiative, the market offers a great venue for local area food growers and producers to connect with customers, and we have seen a number of new market gardeners in our area in the past few years.
The market has blossomed into an integral part of the Kimberley community fabric. We are pleased to continue to offer access to fresh produce, eggs and meat for low income families through our Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program, and are grateful to our volunteers, vendors and the City of Kimberley for its support in helping us to make this market such a wonderful place to be.
