Kimberley Medieval Festival returns this weekend

Kimberley is going to be sacked by Vikings, knights and other medieval characters July 8 and 9 during Kimberley City Bakery’s third annual Kimberley Medieval Festival.

Billed as Western Canada’s largest free medieval festival, this colourful, lively and engaging event delves deep into dark ages with Vikings – led by the Sons of Fenrir, knights, maidens, mystics, a medieval village with vendors, a bakery, roving acts and a rousing demonstration of medieval fighting and weaponry.

A 10 a.m. parade through the Platzl gets things rolling Saturday, July 8, with most of the action taking place at Centennial Park.
