Angie Abdou guest speaker at Friday Literature Series
Fernie’s Angie Abdou is the guest speaker at this Friday’s Literature Series at St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino.
A veteran of CBC’s Canada Reads contest and well know novelist, Abdou latest book, Home Ice: Reflections of a reluctant hockey mom, take on the travails of family life with a youth athlete. It is at times hilarious and at time deadly serious in dealing with the issue of youth concussions.
Next week, March 8, The Literature Series will have a very special guest, Chris Luke Senior of the Lower Kootenay. Chris was the elected Chief of the Lower Kootenay for 30 years. His new book, The Yaqan Nukiy; Their History, Culture and Traditions offers a rare insight into the lives of the first residents of our region. This is not a Literature Series session to be missed.
