The final list of candidates nominated for the 2026 ʔaq̓am by-election has been released ahead of the July 30 by-election.

The candidates are:

Clement, Remus – Nominated by Carol Alexander Seconded by Donna Francis;

Fletcher, Andrew – Nominated by Joseph Pierre Seconded by Max Andrew;

Johnstone, Kolton – Nominated by Maureen McEachen Seconded by Andrew Fletcher;

Joseph, Christopher – Nominated by Aminda Joseph (Thomas) Seconded by Donovan Williams;

Sebastian, Rachelle – Nominated by Kathryn Shottanana Seconded by Peter Williams;

Williams, Donovan – Nominated by Ann Williams Seconded by Andrea Alexander.

Number of nominations declined: two.

Election Day is Thursday, July 30, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

An All Candidates Forum is taking place Thursday, July 23 from 6 – 8 p.m. at ʔaq̓am Administration Boardroom and also via Zoom.
