The holiday season kicks-off in Invermere with the Light Up Celebration and Santa Claus Parade returning to downtown Invermere on Saturday, November 25.

The District of Invermere is organizing both events again this year. The 2023 Light Up theme is ‘Twas the night Before Christmas.’ The district invites you to participate in the parade by providing a float, marchers, riders or whatever your business, club or group wishes to enter.

To help with the parade entries you are asked to register your entry. Alternatively you can email the registration information to Cortney Pitts at [email protected] with the subject line “Light Up Parade 2023 Float” or phone 250-342-9281 ext. 1232.

The parade will assemble for organization on the road west of Pothole Park (9th Avenue/5A Ave). Floats will start the line up at 5 p.m. -facing north. The float order will be determined by the order of arrival.

Be prepared to be moved by the parade marshals. The parade will start from Pothole Park at 6 p.m. and travel through the main street of Invermere (7^th St) to the Eddie Mountain Memorial Arena on (13th St) where the parade will conclude.

The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be taking place in the Cenotaph Park after the parade.

All registered parade floats will be judged to win a trophy that they get to keep in their business or organization for the entire year! Judges will come around and judge the floats prior to the parade start.

Awards will be presented at the Light Up Ceremony in the Cenotaph Park in the following categories: Corporate; Non-Profit; and Small Business.
