Elk Valley RCMP want to advise our communities about scams occurring recently to people living in the Elk Valley area.

Scammers are sending out messages (see below) that violation tickets have been issued to owners with a link to click to pay. These are falsified traffic violations with false officer and court info attached.

The RCMP does not send messages of this type at any time.

A violation ticket is issued in person and will never be issued by text message or email.

Do not click these sorts of scam links and do not provide your personal details, banking information, or social insurance number.
