Art Station update

Spinners and Weavers show continues until October 25

The Spinners and Weavers Guild – Felt Like Fall show at Fernie’s the Art Station is continuing until Tuesday, Oct. 25.

Come to this amazing annual display of all the amazing talent that the Spinners and Weavers Guild is home to! This exhibit and sale of works highlights techniques from the traditional to the contemporary and is demonstrated in the stunning variety of fibre arts. The colours and textures are enough to convince anyone of the awesome beauty that can come from a fibre as simple as wool.

The Fernie Spinners and Weavers Guild is an enthusiastic and creative group of fibre artists. They work with wool, alpaca, cotton, silk and many other fibers, which are spun, dyed, woven, knitted and felted. This year the Guild has focused on felting offering workshops on felted vessels and hat making.  There are plans to offer spinning and weaving workshops during the fall and winter months. Along with many felted pieces, there will be woven, knitted and hand-dyed items.
