Invermere’s annual Valley Appreciation Day was staged downtown on Saturday, July 18.

The event featured the traditional free pancake breakfast, served up by members of service groups including the Kinsmen and Rotary Clubs.

A soapbox race, which featured adults providing pushing power while their kids steered around the course, was also held on 13th Street.

A large farmers’ market lined the downtown core and provided locals and visitors a chance to check out the revitalized Cenotaph Park.

BR Wanted poster LRA stage for entertainment was set up at the Malfunction Junction intersection and the always-entertaining Canal Flats Gagne Family Logging Show took place nearby.

Other wanted “criminals” included District of Invermere councillors Justin Atterbury and Al Miller, among others. In order to secure their release, bail funds had to be raised and paid to the Summit Youth Centre.
