On June 12, Elk Valley RCMP frontline officers received a report from a community agency that a woman in Fernie was potentially in possession of stolen property.

Officers attended and located a number of items including stolen ID, drug paraphernalia, and numerous items that appeared to have been stolen from the Fernie area in April of 2026.

Through the investigation evidence was found to indicate that the woman had been involved in the April break and enters and theft incidents in the West Fernie area.

Charges are being forwarded to the BC Prosecution Service for theft, fraud, and break and enter.
